Childhaven
Preschool believes in providing a nurturing, loving
environment in which children have the opportunity to
grow, develop and learn in a non-stressful, encouraging
atmosphere using developmentally appropriate materials,
music, activities and games. Our aim is to foster
positive self-esteem, facilitate the building of
relationships, develop basic academic skills, encourage
physical development and create a love for learning. |

Information: |
Childhaven has
been in operation since 1998. The Department of
Community Care licenses Childhaven as a large childcare
facility. Our program has been accredited through the
National Association for Family Child Care. We are
presently an accreditation candidate and expect to be
accredited again in spring of 2008. The owner and
primary teacher, Laura Firpo, is credentialed as a site
supervisor for preschool according to the Department of
Education early childhood matrix. She is also a
registered nurse with a BSN and a minor in psychology.
Tamara Dayton-teacher has been with us 5 years now and
is attending school for her Early Childhood Degree.
