Lafayette Kid's Cottage
provides a nurturing, safe, healthy, active, and fun
learning environment for children from 2.9 through 10
years of age. Our program is designed to meet their
individual needs during each stage of development. LKC
offers both standard and creative approaches to
learning, play, and development, including aspects of
the "Tools of the Mind" curriculum. This program variety
assists children in realizing their full potential, and
helps establish a foundation for a lifetime of
successful learning. LKC is located in the heart of
downtown Lafayette, allowing students and teachers to
enjoy daily walking field trips to local kid-friendly
destinations; storytime at the Lafayette Library, nature
trails, puppet shows, and parks. Children enjoy 1000
square feet of indoor play and learning space that
includes over 600 children's books, 70 dramatic play
costumes, and a wide variety of musical instruments,
manipulatives, games, and art supplies all available
throughout each day. Outside playground includes large
shaded play structure, covered biking area, large
covered sandbox, and individual garden planters. An
indoor computer lab is also available for pre-K and
school-age children. LKC offers optional enrichment
programs that include professional dance/gym/yoga
instruction, Town Hall Theatre classes, and private swim
lessons. Other field trips include nearby Sienna Ranch
and local museums. |
