Position: Preschool Director
Location: United Methodist Preschool, Alamo, CA 1/20/2021 Job Description: The United Methodist Preschool in Alamo is seeking a fully qualified Preschool Director. Our preschool was founded in 1975 and provides a program that promotes development in all the domains (social-emotional, language & literacy, cognitive/math, physical) and spiritual growth to children ages 2 – 5 years. The ideal candidate must be motivated to reopen our preschool after a 10+ month closure due to the pandemic. Our most recent licensed capacity was 50 students for approximately 3-6 hours per day. Minimum Requirements (but not limited to) *Know and maintain the school in accordance with Community Care Licensing Regulations *Be familiar with current principles and practices of NAEYC. *Experience with finances and budgeting, along with strong organizational and management skills. *Ability to market reopening of preschool using a variety of sources. *Work with staff to plan and implement a child-centered, play-based curriculum. *Provide an environment for children, families and staff that embodies Christian values. *Engage with local agencies to continuously improve the quality of the program (e.g., QRIS) *Motivated to grow as a leader in the field, remaining current with relevant research & development. *Recruit, interview, supervise, support and evaluate staff. *Effective problem solver who leads in a collaborative manner and maintains a supportive environment. *Facilitate staff development and parent education programs. *Serve as a liaison to the church with open communication. *Conduct tours for prospective parents and manage enrollment of new students. *Hold parent conferences and meetings as needed. *Maintain a professional appearance and attitude. *The Director is responsible for all school operations, curriculum development, and maintaining positive relationships with staff, families, The Preschool Commission, the church, as well as the community. Pandemic Protocols During the pandemic the Director is responsible for knowing and implementing all State, County and Methodist Conference requirements to reopen. The Director will implement all COVID-19 protocols and educate staff, students and families to ensure protocols are followed. Qualifications: Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field. Minimum Experience:1-year experience as a preschool teacher & 1+ years in an administrative role.
