Valley Parent Preschool is a co-operative preschool
owned and operated physically and financially by all
currently enrolled member families. Valley Parent
Preschool’s curriculum is based on a developmental
approach to learning. Our program provides opportunities
to enhance each individual child's intellectual,
emotional, social, creative and physical growth.
An important concept that Valley Parent supports, as do
all other cooperative preschools across the nation, is
the understanding that parents are the most influential
teachers in their children's lives. Your involvement is
crucial to the success of our program. By being part of
your children's school experience, you are giving your
children the message that their education is important
to you. Your participation at school imparts the feeling
that you care about them and their world. |

Special Programs: |
The Kinderprep
program is a unique opportunity for children who are
age-eligible to attend kindergarten that would greatly
benefit from an additional year of growth. The smaller
class size combined with an amazing teacher help to
create a safe environment for children to learn and
explore. The program is intended to develop those
skills, which will allow children to have an easier
transition into the kindergarten classroom. |

Additional Info: |
Parent participation
is the number of times per month that your child attends
per week (2 – 3 times per month for one child).
Approximately every three months, on one of your
participation days, you will be scheduled to bring a
snack for 30 children and 10 adults. One parent from
each family will serve on a committee each year. The
amount of time spent on a committee varies (approx. 20
hours per school year). Each family is required to
contribute a minimum of 4 hours and your talent on one
maintenance project per year/per child to keep our
school safe and clean. You may choose from 1 of 3
scheduled maintenance days or individual projects are
posted periodically. Parents are also required to attend
four general meetings per year. |
