Parent Testimonials: Alamo Country School
This charming school is full of character. The setting alone feels like you landed in a children's book. It has a beautiful vegetable garden, large play structure and huge sandbox. The students are surrounded by many carvings from a former woodworking artist that owned the building previously. Each room is unique and inspiring.
The grounds however do not overshadow the superior staff. We have had 3 children attend this school over the last 8 years and each time it is time to send them off to Kindergarten it is not without shedding several tears. The staff has been consistent for all 8 years. This speaks volumes about their dedication and love of teaching in such a warm environment. The student to teacher ratio is small which is so effective in building a strong foundation for learning. The staff treats each child individually and does not use a one size all approach. The school is very organized and the curriculum is spot on with each age group. The students are more than ready to attend Kindergarten each fall. More than this, the love and genuine concern the teachers show the students and their families is worth its weight in gold.

My daughter has been attending Alamo Country school since she was two years old. She started out in the youngest class and has continued through to the pre-K class. The Director and teachers at ACS are so wonderful, supportive and flexible to meet the needs of working parents. I cannot say enough great things about this school. The school has been a great fit for my daughter and for me. They also offer a variety of extra activities which is extremely helpful because your child can be exposed to a multitude of activities without you driving all over town.
--Parent of ACS for 3 years
We have two children in Alamo Country School. The oldest has been there for 2 years and the youngest for just under one year. I am confident in saying that my experiences with ACS have been nothing but positive. All of our future children will be attending ACS. We are deciding on where our home is going to be based on its proximity to ACS. Not sure if that is enough, then let me tell you about the people. Every teacher (even if not your child's teach) will commit themselves to your child. Learning your children's name, learning their personality, taking the time to be a mentor to that child. Preschool, in my mind should be similar to a village. ACS has shown me that the teachers treat each child like one of their own children. Making sure to discipline when necessary and praise when necessary. And they communicate with the parents to meet the parents needs and objectives. Also, they communicate with the parents to help the at school to at home transition. For example, they work with the parents on different habits to enhance the good habits and eliminate the bad habits.
Most important, my kids want to go to school. They love their teachers and they are excited to see them everyday. They don't whine, they don't cry. As a parent, knowing that my kids are in good hands puts my mind at ease.
