Position:  Before and After School Care Staff Member
Location: Contra Costa Christian School in Walnut Creek, CA

Job Description:

• Part-time, M-F 2:30- 6 p.m. and 11:30-5 p. m. on minimum days (four times out of the school year)
• Starts late August for the 2017-2018 school year
• Working under the supervision of the Program Director, the program assistant will instruct and participate in a variety of physical activities aiming at engaging students in fun, recreational objectives.
• Provide a healthy snack
• Supervise children attending the program and promote safety and respect
• Ensure a friendly and supportive atmosphere is maintained by developing strategies to support children in managing their behavior
• Ensure correct procedures are followed for administering first aid
• Respond to individual needs of children and establish stable and consistent relationships with each child and parents
• Liaison sensitively with parents on matters concerning their children while maintaining confidentiality
• Ensure proper sign in/ sign out procedures are followed
• Cleaning and tidying of the facility ensuring the safe storage of equipment
• Report on a regular basis to Program Director regarding issues of need and/ or concern
• Communicates the mission, values and operating principles of the school and organization to employees, parents, and children

Qualifications:

• Ability to work well with others
• Experience with leading children/ youth activities
• Ability to work as a team member in a dynamic, complex environment
• Childcare or children's ministry experience
• E.C.E units preferable (but not required)
• Personal testimony of Christian faith and commitment
• Live scan background check
• CPR and first aid certified
