Position:  Preschool Teacher
Location: Creative Learning Center in Alamo, CA


Job Description: 
Description: Under the direction of the Program Director, work in a classroom environment and implement a program for children that is age appropriate, nurtures the development of the whole child, prepares the child for Kindergarten socially, emotionally, academically, and is consistent with the school’s philosophy.

Minimum Qualifications: A combination of formal education and experience that enables the Teacher to fulfill the responsibilities listed below:
  • Minimum of twelve (12), twenty four (24) preferred, Early Childhood Education units, including core courses
  • Previous experience in an Early Childhood Education setting
  • Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect of the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, abilities, and ethnic backgrounds of staff, children and their families
  • Live Scan clearance
  • Current TB and Health Report
  • CPR/ First Aid Certified
  • Mandated Reported Training completion
  • Health and Safety Training
 
Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
  • Plans and implements age-appropriate, hands-on, process-oriented playful learning activities for small and large groups
  • Participate in a teacher work rotation for all areas of the curriculum
  • Abides by policies, procedures and philosophy of the school
  • Serves as a Mandated Reporter
  • Shares responsibility for the appearance of the learning environment. Assists as needed in maintaining the school’s equipment, grounds and classrooms
  • Actively participates in parent/school partnering activities, i.e. parent letters, conferencing, meetings, parent education and special events
  • Actively participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings and other continuing education activities
  • Maintains ongoing communication with the Program Director, other staff members and parents
  • Performs other applicable duties as assigned
