Additional Information
Child’s Play is Child’s Work. In Montessori schools we do not distinguish between work and play. All learning is seen as the result of the child's natural impetus toward self-development. Even "academic" work is approached as a symbolic and abstract level of play through the hands-on, sensorial way of learning that is the hallmark of early childhood. Learning is natural and easy because it involves the mind, body and spirit in a way that is natural to the child.

Parent Testimonials: Garden Gate Montessori School
I found Garden Gate Montessori through eastbaypreschools.com two years ago. Now two of my children go there and we love it! It is an intimate, home-like environment that is true to the intention and principles of Montessori education. One of my children is doing his Kindergarten year there this year. We are really amazed and impressed with all that he is learning. Both are boys are coming into their own in this school-- becoming confident, capable, courteous little people.
