Position: Montessori Preschool Lead Teacher for Fall 2018
Location: Garden Montessori School

Job Description:
We are a small established Montessori school in Danville looking for an experienced head teacher for our 3-6 year old program for fall 2018. The position is available starting June 25th for Summer School, or starting in August for the regular school term. The position could be filled by one teacher 8:30-3:00 or by 2 teachers in 2 shifts, 8:30-12 and 11:30-3. Summer School is 8:30-1:00 daily.

We are looking for someone who enjoys children, supports the Montessori philosophy and wants to have their own classroom. 

This is an opportunity for you to develop the curriculum you have always wanted and share it with a group of great children. We have a true children's house with gardens, rabbits, birds, fish, a large lawn and an indoor/outdoor classroom. We have a full range of Montessori materials and many cultural, manipulative and practical life supplies for you to use. We welcome your ideas, materials and skills that you have developed. 

As the head teacher, you will have the opportunity:

• to prepare classroom activities and curriculum and maintain the classroom environment 
• to plan lessons, songs and activities to support the curriculum
• to communicate with parents on a daily basis and semi-annual parent-teacher conferences 
• to supervise the children and attend to their physical safety and emotional development

Qualifications:

• Experience working in a Montessori classroom 
• The desire and ability to develop a curriculum and to set up and maintain a classroom
• Montessori certification
• Meet all California requirements for licensing
