Lafayette Nursery School - The biggest difference between us and most of the other schools you'll find in the area is that we're a parent cooperative. That means this is your school as much as your child's. You will participate in the classroom and give your energy and ideas to it. You'll play as big a role in shaping your child as the directors do.
Any school can teach children. The good ones teach you as well. A good school promotes growth and development of its children. But the really outstanding school enriches the lives of its grown-ups, too. That's where we stand apart. Parents here find their own lives take on more significance because they are in on the process. Plus, they find new friends - people with whom they can share the challenges and joys of raising children.
We focus on the whole child. We offer a program to promote the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of each child. Both classes offer developmentally appropriate activities that facilitate learning through play. The activity choices each day include art, literature, science, math, cooking, dramatic play, music and outdoor play. Our main goal is to encourage the growth of a positive self-concept in each child.
A limited number of spaces are still available for 2021-22. Please contact us for more information.
