Job Description
The Primary Teaching Assistant will encourage children ages 3 to 6 years old to be independent and model for them appropriate manners and behaviors and help facilitate a classroom environment designed to promote social, physical and intellectual growth following the philosophy of Maria Montessori. This person will assist the teacher in providing a safe and nurturing environment in which the children can grow physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually. This position requires love, patience and respect for children.
 
This individual will work approximately from 11:00am – 6:00pm in the classroom during the 2021-2022 school year. Compensation is dependent upon education and experience.
 
Qualifications
– Minimum 12 ECE units required
– Meet all state licensing requirements
– Experience working with young children (1+ years of experience preferred)
– Passionate about Montessori Approach
– Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect of the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, abilities, and ethnic backgrounds of staff, children and their families
